Using Copeland Digital Scroll Heating improved with EVI, a heat pump system has greater heating capacity and operates more efficiently at low outdoor temperatures than a conventional heat pump, providing better heating to the end-user.

For conventional heating systems using scroll compressors, the refrigerant flow rate at the suction is less than the actual compressor capacity under low ambient temperature; hence, compressor capacity is not fully utilized. Copeland Digital Scroll with Enhanced Vapor Injection (EVI) improves on conventional heating systems by solving the shortfall in refrigerant flow rate.  A second suction port on the fixed-scroll established, in which the flow on the main cycle is increased. With the help of an economizer, the high pressure / high temperature liquid will be expanded to medium pressure refrigerant gas through additional EXV and injected into the second suction port. Meanwhile, the main cycle can get enhanced super-cooling.
