The Emerson Cup has been successfully held in China for the last six years and is a well recognized event and an excellent venue for interaction and exchange of ideas among industry peers. In India, it was held for the first time last year inviting nominations from HVAC Consultants. This year, in addition to entries from HVAC Consultants, participation has been widened to include entries from real estate developers, architects, institution owners and students from architecture and HVAC fields.
The panel of judges for the Emerson Cup 09’ consists of experts from the fields of Energy Efficiency, Building Design and Air-conditioning. Well known and extremely respected in their chosen fields, each of them a visionary by their own right, they bring to the judging table special skills to evaluate projects on these particular criteria.
The international panel of judges includes Karan Grover, Tanmay Tathagat and Pankaj R Dharkar from India, Panja Thanghirun from Thailand, Chen Thiam Leong, Malaysia and Laurentino R. Punsalan from Philippines.
The five award categories for this year are: New Building, New Building–Designed but not completed one year, Retrofit Building, Innovation of Human Comfort and a special category for Students.
